How is the list ranked and “Abnormal Indexes” computed on the Day Summary?
The stocks are ranked by the Abnormal Index. Hottrend “weighs” stocks according to a multivariate model. A stock that has been in the RealTime Radar for a number of consecutive minutes gets a higher ranking than a stock that has been in the RealTime Radar for the same number of nonconsecutive minutes. The Abnormal Index is the sum of the squares of each consecutive minute period the stock has been in the RealTime Radar. The number will range from 1 to a maximum of 152,100, the latter meaning the stock was on the RealTime Radar for each of the 390 trading minutes during the day.
