How is the license renewed beyond the four year period from the date of issuance?
Not less than 90 days prior to the expiration date of the license, the attorney general mails to the licensee a written notice of the expiration and a renewal form. On or before the expiration date, the licensee files with the sheriff the renewal form, evidence that the licensee has requalified by completion of an approved weapons safety and training course, a photograph of the licensee taken within the preceding 30 days, and a renewal fee of $100 in the form of two cashier’s checks or money orders, one of $50 payable to the sheriff and one of $50 payable to the attorney general.
