How is the interview with the Thai Child Adoption Board?
Families who have completed the interview report it as an easy, formal yet comfortable meeting. The interview takes place in a large conference room and the board members (approximately 10 of them) are friendly and polite. There is no need for an interpreter as the board members speak English very well. The board members are very familiar with each family’s case, and ask questions about topics ranging from the family’s decision to adopt a child from Thailand to how they feel about their new child and what their plans are for the future. Although the interview is the final step before being granted custody of your child, it is reported by many to be more of a formality.
