The IFC project is focused on the EASSy submarine cable. The RCIP operation financed by the World Bank is focused on the terrestrial elements of the overall regional communications infrastructure and on activities generating demand for the infrastructure being put in place. While the IFC and World Bank initiatives are highly complementary, RCIP’s viability is not dependant solely on the EASSy cable.
