How is the Insat Wireless modem connected to the Internet?
• The Insat Wireless Modem is connected to the Internet through the CDPD providers Network Access Point. Whenever the modem is on and the light is green it is connected to the Internet (EVEN IF THE COMPUTER IS OFF!). Your e-mail/web servers are strategically located elsewhere on the Internet. • Can I send or receive faxes or connect to a local BBS through my Insat Wireless Modem? • The AlphaCom Wireless Modem is a direct data connection to the INTERNET only. But there are gateways as well as other third party services on the Internet that allow for things such as faxing, dialing a local BBS, or any other way that you are currently using your conventional wire-line modem.
