How is the Influenza A H1N1 (2009) Real Time RT-PCR different from other influenza tests?
It is the first commercial laboratory test that can qualitatively detect the RNA of the pandemic flu virus in patient specimens. It also is the first commercial test for detecting the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus to be granted emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
