How is the garage going to be used?
Will it be primarily used for vehicles rolling in and out? Material and/or vehicle storage only? Stationery vehicles under repair? Or will the garage be an extended play/recreation area? Are large tools and other equipment going to be used on the flooring? Other factors like the age and condition of the concrete slab, moisture problems, cracks, oil, etc., also need to be considered. All of these factors affect the kind of flooring that will work best for a given situation. Is there a fully-intact, impermeable vapor barrier under the concrete slab? If there isn’t, the risk of failure of any product that must adhere to the slab, including paint, epoxies, sealers, porcelain/ceramic tiles and other flooring that require adhesive, will have a high risk of failure due to moisture vapor emissions.
