How Is the GAC delivered?
A key feature of the GAC is that it can be delivered in different modes. The standard full-time program is taken over a 9-month period (3 levels by 12 weeks). A second mode is the concurrent model whereby students study the GAC at the same time as they study their regular high school curriculum. For example, students study GAC Level 1 in Year 10, GAC Level 2 in Year 11 and GAC Level 3 in Year 12. The circumstances of each school are different so it may be possible for students to complete the GAC in a shorter time. The advantage of this mode is that when the students graduate from their high school, they also graduate from the GAC and have an ACT® test score. An individualized program of delivery is designed for each school to ensure that each school’s circumstances, such as time-tabling and teacher availability, are taken into consideration. Due to the flexibility of delivery modes, the GAC can be adapted to suit most schools’ situations.
