The course consists of an Induction Unit, eight taught modules, an optional placement year and a project/dissertation module which is the equivalent to four taught modules. The induction unit is normally a two week period starting mid-September of each year. It serves as an introduction to the course, the university and its many resources. It is also a period when the administration of admissions in done and you all get to know each other and us, the staff. Full time students study four modules in semester one (from October to January) and four more modules in semester two (Feb to May). We do offer an optional placement year starting in June after the taught course has finished. This is an opportunity to gain paid employment and experience for a year before undertaking the final project/dissertation.
