How is the Flight Focus PLATFORM™ installed in the aircraft and will this involve alterations to the cockpit configuration?
The Flight Focus PLATFORM™ requires the installation of a mounting bracket for the cockpit devices and the associated cabling and antenna systems. The system consists of two cockpit terminals (keyboard included), a central power supply and a processing box in the electronics bay, an Iridium antenna and a communications transceiver unit. The latter is installed close to the antenna, at around mid-ship position, depending on the aircraft type and the individual STC. The price provided by Flight Focus includes the certification costs associated with regulatory approval and the EASA STC (Supplemental Type Certificate).
