Requirements of this law impact most public and private employers.ApplicabilityThe FLSA applies to certain business entities, including businesses whose gross annual sales are greater than $500,000; hospitals or institutions for the mentally or physically disabled; and public agencies.ExceptionEmployers not covered by the FLSA may still be subject to the requirements of the law. The law applies if a business introduces goods into interstate commerce. However, FLSA also applies if a business is closely related to interstate commerce.
