How is the end date for days at risk calculated differently for mortality and first hospitalization?
Mortality: Days at risk end at the date of death, date of transplant, or December 31, whichever occurs first. First Hospitalization: Days at risk end at first hospitalization or the date of death, 3 days prior to transplant, or December 31, whichever occurs first. Note: Days at risk for hospitalization end 3 days prior to transplant in order to avoid capture of the hospitalization in which the transplant is performed.
