How is the Editor-In-Chief (EIC) selected?
The EIC serves a three-year term that generally begins in July. The MTT Publications Committee votes on a slate of candidates that are suggested by Associate Editors, former EICs, AdCom members, members at large, and the current EIC. The new editor is provided a database, email and hands on training on the use of the various tools, an email describing the job, and form letters. The EIC is normally elected about six months out and will start receiving papers that would be appropriate for his first issue, all papers prior to this issue are kept by the original editor. The term of the EIC is three years.
