How is the Digital Library of Georgia related to Georgia HomePLACE (Providing Libraries and Archives Electronically)?
The Georgia Department of Archives and History (Office of Secretary of State), the Office of Public Library Services (Board of Regents, University System of Georgia), and the Digital Library of Georgia and GALILEO (University System of Georgia) are collaborating on the long-range project called Georgia HomePLACE (Providing Libraries and Archives Electronically) to digitize valuable Georgia family and local history records and make them available as part of the Digital Library of Georgia and GALILEO. During the first phase of the project, the following resources will be made available: Vanishing Georgia Historic Photograph Collection; Georgia County Marriage Records; Georgia Confederate Veterans Pension Application Files; Georgia Historical Map Collections; and other unique Georgia archival resources.
