The D3 System uses a distributed asset technology that pushes media files out to edge servers, called Edge Accelerators, deployed at primary usage points. This eliminates long upload and download times as well as performance issues like buffering and bandwidth congestion. By pushing larger media files (like dailies or trailers) out to the end user’s location they are accessing media files over their local area network as opposed to the Internet. This removes the need for infrastructure upgrades and keeps network IT folks happy as it minimizes bandwidth congestion.
