How is the confidentiality of data extracted from practice systems protected?

0

The MIQUEST software used in the data extraction process anonymises both practice and patient information. A Data Collection Agreement must be drawn up and signed by all practices in a scheme before data analysis starts. The final authorisation for any data extraction rests with the individual GP on whose system the queries are to be run. The PRIMIS+ Team takes great care over data confidentiality and security, and all procedures are audited by suitably qualified people appointed by The NHS Information Centre for health and social care. Although feedback to practices of analyses carried out on their data is highly recommended, it is not compulsory to provide any data to the PRIMIS+ Team for analysis by them.
