How is the Comprehensive Plan implemented?

0

The Land Use portion of the Comprehensive Plan is implemented through annexation, zoning, platting, and development & building regulations. The Unified Development Ordinance (our zoning ordinance) and the Subdivision Regulations are our primary tools to implement the Comprehensive Plan. The Thoroughfare and Utility portions of the Comprehensive Plan are implemented through the development of private property and through the Capital Improvements Programming process – where tax dollars are allocated to projects (roadways, sewer lines, etc.) that are seen as a need in the community and that will not be built by a developer in the near future. Our Subdivision Regulation and our design standards ensure that public infrastructure is built to City standards.
