How is the competition funded?

The Competition is jointly funded by HEFCE (the Higher Education Funding Council for England) and Yorkshire Forward (the regional development agency). HEFCE have made funds available nationally to help students graduating in 2009 find employment and develop opportunities to enhance their employment/self employment prospects. The HEFCE funding scheme is called the Economic Challenge Investment Fund, usually abbreviated to ECIF. Yorkshire Forward has agreed to provide match funding for our work. Half of the funding comes from the entry fees. The other half comes from a fund, which we have set up to generate the awards money.
