How is the Cochran ScubaLink different from the DAN DL7 ScubaLink?

0

The Cochran interface works the same way however Cochran ScubaLink knows how the Analyst software works and is able to start the software from within ScubaLink. It does however need to know what WAN file to read. The steps would be very similar to a DL7 except the user would need to know the proper WAN file to use. The WAN file is equal to Revision 4.X CAN file. The WAN file is an encrypted/compressed version of the memory from either the Commander or Gemini computers. As for the Cochran ScubaLink it creates a series of Level 3 DAN DL7 files, via the Cochran Script Language. It is via this script language that we are able to communicate with Cochran Computers. It automatically produces the file, reads the file, and then deletes the file. Cochran generally does not allow others to reverse engineer their dive computer protocol or open the WAN/CAN file. AAI has been granted permission to use the specifications for Cochran’s script language to translate their data files into ScubaLink. Coc
