How is the Coalition attorney being paid? Where are the funds coming from?
Ms. Madeiros has generously given the Coalition a discounted rate. 100% of legal fees for July through December 2008 were paid by contributions from Coalition members. For her work in 2009, the Coalition will owe a total of $40,000, half of which has already been paid. We currently rely 100% on member contributions. To contribute, you may click here. The Coalition applied for assistance from the NASW legal Defense Fund in October 2008, and received a response dated March 15, 2009 stating that they cannot provide financial support to the Coalition at this time.
