How is the Celebration Iowa Singers & Jazz Band program unique?
The Celebration Iowa Singers & Jazz Band encompasses five areas of opportunity: Performing Arts – Through learning, performing and maintaining a professional quality production, the participants develop valuable performing skills in the areas of music, theater, dance and personal presentation. The discipline, responsibility and teamwork required for the program encourage the students to stretch their personal performing skills. Education – In addition to daily rehearsals, the singers study voice, theater, vocal improvisation and various dance styles. Instrumentalists study music theory, music literature, jazz history, technique, and improvisation. In addition to full-time staff, the rehearsal period is enhanced by the involvement of a theater consultant and several choral and band consultants. Academic classes continue throughout the tour.
