According to the balance sheet as at December 31, 2008, RWE’s capital stock amounts to €1,440 million. It is divided into 523.4 million common bearer shares and 39.0 million preference shares. Our shares are no-par stock. They represent a calculated share of the capital stock in the amount of €2.56. As of September 30, 2009 we hold 28,846,473 own ordinary shares as treasury stock. The number of shares outstanding is thus as follows: • 494,558,527 common shares • 39,000,000 preference shares.
