A. The buffer amount is calculated as a percentage (generally between 0 and 10%) of the market value of each acceptable security within your portfolio. These values are totalled together to make your buffer amount. There is no buffer for cash, or for securities that Suncorp Margin Lending does not lend against (ie 0% gearing).
