How is the Board of Directors made up?
An eleven-member Board of Directors governs Petróleos Mexicanos. The President of Mexico appoints six members, including the Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Currently, the representatives appointed by the President of Mexico are: the Secretary of Energy, the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, the Secretary of the Environment and Natural Resources, the Secretary of Communications and Transportation, the Secretary of Economy, and the General Coordinator of Cabinets and Special Projects of the Presidential Office. The chairman of the Board of Directors of PEMEX is the Secretary of Energy. The Sindicato de Trabajadores Petroleros de la República Mexicana (the Petroleum Workers’ Union, which we refer to as the Union) selects the remaining five directors from among our employees.
