How is the AT&T license different from GPL?
• Sharing source mods is optional (unlike GPL which forces it) but if you decide to share, you must share upstream (to the author) as well as downstream. This is not much different from the Apple source license (which is “free”.) • The AT&T termination clause is more cautious than some other source licenses, although if there is a patent infringement a licensee is allowed to just replace or remove the infringing code. • The license has some boilerplate and other language such as “I agree not to break the law” and “I agree not to frame the AT&T website” that some find excessive.
