How is The 1010 Project different from other organizations?
Our development model is a catalyst for breaking the multidimensional cycle of poverty. (video) We are intentional about friendships. Many humanitarian organizations judge success in terms of input and output. While we do track and analyze quantitative data (accountability and impacts), we also put a great deal of emphasis on qualitative results. We don’t view the leaders of Kenyan community-based organizations simply as partners – they are our friends. The 1010 Project connects resource with need in the context of friendship. We offer a helping hand, which means listening to, learning from, and humbly serving alongside the true experts in the field of development – the poor.
