How is telematics integrated into fleet management?

0

In a fleet management application, the black box is located (on a map, with coordinates) via GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites. It can also have access to various vehicle sensors (temperature, weight etc.) and even the in-vehicle computer. Data such as the vehicle’s speed, position, distance traveled, fuel level etc. is then relayed via a communication network – for example as sms messages in the GSM network – to a central server where the data is processed and distributed to the user via the Internet. In Scope’s telematics solution, the user can directly communicate with or send commands to the vehicle – useful, for example, in the case of vehicle theft, where the vehicle can be immobilised.
