TechBoston Academy is a unique, small high school that realizes in practice the goals of Focus on Children II, the six essentials of Whole School Improvement, and the goals of Boston’s approved proposal to the Carnegie Corporation, Focus on High Schools. The innovations of TechBoston academy will include: • A model small high school where technology is infused into all student learning; • Internship experiences for all students; • Year-round calendar and longer school day; • Leading BPS school deploying the MyBPS portal to facilitate student, teacher, and parent connections; • First high school site for Technology Goes Home @ School, training parents and students together and placing technology in homes; • Professional Development School for training veteran teachers and teacher interns; • Pioneer in teacher development of and school use of online curriculum.
