How is taking College Algebra online different from a traditional lecture class?

0

This class consists of lectures in the form of videos with a tutorial providing an unlimited number of practice problems with worked out solutions and step-by-step help. Since the class never meets as a group, interaction with the instructor and other students will take place in an asynchronous discussion board where students will post questions (and answers!) several times a week. If this were a traditional class, you would be meeting in a lecture room for 3 hours per week and spending 9 – 12 hours per week outside of class on homework. This means that at a minimum, you should be prepared to study algebra 12 – 15 hours each week. Remember: This course will require more time than a traditional face-to-face class. Taking a course online requires both self-discipline and time management skills. Orientation: The online orientation is available on my web page as well as within MyMathLab (CourseCompass). This needs to be completed as soon as possible, but no later than the end of the first
