HOW IS SUNOUT MADE?
The manufacturing process is part of a patented secret. But, it basically starts with the chemist’s computer where the formulations are made to produce the proper combinations of chemicals to produce the two very different materials. Each must have the flexibility to stretch enough to conform to complex window shapes and yet to be rigid enough to maintain shape during extreme temperature changes. After the chemistry is correct, raw sheets of materials are made. The material is inspected to assure the perforator that it is free from defects that might affect further processing, would produce rough surfaces that would keep the material from adhering to the glass, or would interfere with clear visibility. The sheets are finished, inspected again for proper static charge and the final rolls are perforated, slit and re-rolled into convenient sizes. The finished product is inspected again and packaged for consumer use.
