How is study in dance different from study in dance education?
University study in dance, as in our regular B.F.A. program, focuses on developing performance, production and choreography skills augmented by theoretical study in anatomy, movement analysis and dance history. University study in dance education builds on this knowledge by specifically examining how to teach technique, performance skills, composition, and history, etc. The aim of dance education study is to develop pedagogical content knowledge or the ability to integrate educational theories and practices with artistic theories and practices.
