How is stem cell technology curing disease? How will stem cell technology cure cancer, heart damage, and aging?
Stem cell technology doesn’t cure diseases. It fixes damage caused by diseases. Disease hits the body and does damage, and then, *after* the disease is conquered, stem cells are used to repair the damage. And yes… it’s one of those technologies that regardless of how certain social forces might think to suppress it, people are going to figure out ways to use it once it’s known to work, and once they know how to work it. Aside from the fixing of things like Parkinson disease and spinal cord damage, it is indeed the way to replace post-mitotic cells like muscle and brain over the long haul if someone were to figure out how to keep everything else in their bod going for 2000 years. In order to keep the body living for 2000 years, science must determine a solution to a problem that even nature never solve, which is telomerase degradation.
