As a private, not-for-profit organization, Stamford Hospital relies on insurance companies, government payors (Medicare, Medicaid) and private donations to provide our services to the community. As a tax-exempt charity, we must provide emergency care to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Our hospital has one of the highest rates of uncompensated care in the state.
