How is SITA-MediCollects performance regulated?
The appropriate disposal of biohazard wastes is MediCollect’s primary business. MediCollect is involved with the Australian and New Zealand Clinical Waste Management Industry Group, now the ‘Biohazard Waste Association’ and adheres to the Biohazard Waste Association. SITA-MediCollect is a licensed premises under the Environmental Protection Act and must regularly monitor and report on a number of environmental requirements. SITA-MediCollect also provides emission data to the National Pollution Inventory under the Environmental Protection (NEPM – NPI) Regulations 1998. 11. How is the waste transported? Waste is transported to the SITA-MediCollect site in colour specific collectors that have been specially designed to carry the different waste classifications. Each container is labelled clearly to ensure only those specific types of waste are disposed of correctly. These collectors are transported to site in licenced commercial vehicles and tracked by the ‘Controlled Waste tracking Syste
