How is shopping at a CSA different from a grocery store?

Since our main goal is freshness, we try to get the produce from the field to you in 48 hours. In the traditional grocery store the produce goes from the farm to the processing plant to storage to wholesaler to distribution center and finally the grocery store. It’ s no wonder some grocery stores brag about inspecting their produce five to six times that just means five to six days of it just sitting around.
