All TV screens are measured diagonally eg from bottom left corner to top right corner, this applies to all LCD screens – even your 28 inch widescreen at home! With LCD TV screens the size given is usually the ‘panel’ size which differs from viewable area, as the panel will have a surround for neatness and safety. An 8″ lcd screen will not have a viewable diagonal size of exactly 8 inches, but it will be very close to that. Hence all screen sizes given are approximate.
