How is rice actually grown?
Germinate previously soaked rice seeds on a plastic sheet. Prepare rice paddy, weeding, plowing, harrowing, watering. Transplant rice seedlings. Remove snails and weeds. Apply fertilizer. Maintain sufficient water level in paddy. When rice plant is tall enough and flowering begins, eliminate rats. Apply fertilizer again. Before harvesting, dry the paddy. Sleep in the field to deter robbers. Harvest then tresh to separate grain from stalk, and pay everybody who helped from the transplanters, weeders, treshers, and transporters. Most will love cash but rice grains will do. Everything left behind is yours. Dry by spreading grains under the sun before storage or dehusking. After dehusking, rice may be sold or stored further prior to cooking. Selling of rice (ready for cooking) or rice grains commands a very small price. It would be best to transform the field into a subdivision to earn more money.
