How is read-only access to a CMS database provided?

0

The Web Client can be used to provide read-only access via a graphical browser to users without access to the CMS server. If the desire is to provide a user on the CMS server with read-only access to the CMS database (e.g. for running CMS queries against the database), the Telelogic CMS Knowledgebase article Synergy/CM User Roles & Security suggests a manager role to enable read-only access the the CMS database; any role not listed in the CMS security rules table can be used. The CMS databases packaged with S/CM provide a no_privs role; assigning that role to a user provides read-only access.
