How is Pyongyangs Sunan International airport?
It’s modest and small soviet style building. Like everywhere we see pictures of the great and the dear leader. The international status refers to the 9 weekly flights operated out of this airport. 5 flights to Beijing, 2 on Air China and 3 on Air Koryo (the north korean airline formerly known as C.A.A.K). Than 2 Air Koryo flights to Shenyang, 1 air Koryo flight to Bangkok and 1 air Koryo flight to Vladivostok. There is even a duty free shop that sells 1 overpriced bar of soap and a bottle or 2 of local brandy. Check-in was a bit troublesome, Air China check-in at Pyongyang was a bit troublesome because the staff didn’t understand my many transit route through Beijing, Dubai and Lagos to Freetown. She was confused about which visa’s I would require. Anyway I couldn’t stay any longer in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea so I was handed my boarding pass in the end.
