How is Pulsed Light skin rejuvenation different from other rejuvenation procedures?
Pulsed Light treatments are characterized by speed and convenience. Other options like laser resurfacing or microdermabrasion are invasive, i.e. they actually remove one or more layers of the epidermis (the outside skin). As a result, treatments take longer and the client frequently has a recovery period during which the skin is red and sensitive. Pulsed light is non-ablative (i.e. it doesn’t cut into your skin). It only attacks the highly pigmented areas that most clients want to remove. Also, after several treatments the client may notice that the skin in the treatment area looks smoother and fuller. This is because the light energy penetrates the dermis (the lower level skin tissue) and forces the body to produce more collagen than it would otherwise. This fills out the skin, particularly in older people, and makes the skin look smoother. Back to top.
