As in the case of most of the mental illnesses, people suffering from pathological lying disorder just refuse to believe that they need medical help. This belief, in turn, delays the treatment procedure and worsens the situation. The first step towards pathological liar treatment is to make the person aware of the fact that he is suffering from some psychological disorder and needs medical help.
