OK, I’m reform, and American, so I can give you a touch of what to expect. Many orthodox families will read the Haggadah (the book with all the stories, prayers, and rituals in it) until late into the night. It will probably be all in Hebrew, which could get a bit boring for you, as you will not have a clue as to what is going on. They will also probably keep a very strictly kosher household, and that means, during Passover, NOTHING LEAVENED. Now, the definition of what is or isn’t leavened can vary according to where the family is originally from (going back at least 100 years), but you can bet: no bread, no beer, nothing made with flour (although matzah meal is okay). If they are like the majority of American families (we are largely from Ashkenzic backgrounds…a whole nother magillah), they probably willl not allow anything that is a legume (peas and dried beans), corn, or rice.
