Overtime compensation is required to be paid at the rate of 1-1/2 times the regular hourly rate of pay. In general, an employee’s regular rate is the hourly rate plus certain additional types of compensation. The regular hourly rate of pay is determined by dividing the total of the covered types of compensation by the total number of hours actually worked in the work week for which overtime pay is due.
