Hot desking, free addressing, and virtual officing, on the other hand, emphasize employee mobility within single offices, often at the expense of managerial control over employee movement. Office Hoteling considers the office to be akin to a hotel. Employees make reservations and check-in, thereby allowing management to track utilization of workspaces. Conversely, hot desking and similar solutions consider the office to be a parking lot – workspace available on a first come, first serve basis.
