Because it is built according to the J2EE architecture, NetVision NPM is much more robust and configurable than open-source alternatives. While you can modify open-source applications to create different reports, you need the services of a programmer to do so. NetVision NPM also takes advantage of the other features of Java, like multi-threaded application execution and built-in security, which are either not available or with other platforms or again, would require the services of a programmer to implement.
