Ohio State and Navy today announced a two-game football series that will begin in 2009. The Buckeyes will host the Midshipmen in the 2009 season opener, playing Sept. 5, 2009 at Ohio Stadium. The return game will be Aug. 30, 2014 and will be played at a site in the Annapolis, Md., region. “What a thrill it will be for the Ohio State community to host the proud tradition of the United States Naval Academy,” said Ohio State coach Jim Tressel in a statement. Ohio State and Navy have met three times previously in football matchups. The Buckeyes were 27-0 winners at Navy in 1930, and Ohio State won 20-0 in Columbus the following season.
