How is nature described in the Daffodils poem?

0

alondon Teacher High School – 9th Grade Worthsworth uses vivid imagery to decribe the nature in the poem with the use of similes (comparing two unlike things using like, as, than, or resembles), as evidenced in the title and personification (when an inhuman object is given human qualities). The loneliness he dsplays in his first similes, which he had until he came upon the flowers (“I wandered lonely as a cloud.”) He compares the vastness of the flowers (which rids him of his loneliness) with the simile “continuous as the stars that shine.” He also personifies the daffodils when he states by their “dancing in the breeze” and “tossing their spritely heads”. All of Wordsworth’s figurative language regarding the nature of the daffodils leads him to the realization that, though he did not realize it at the time, the memory will be one that stays with him forever, and the daffodilas continue to bring him great happiness.
