How is my finish time recorded and awards determined?

Electronic timing is the most accurate timing system available and allows your time to start when you reach the actual starting line mats, instead of when the Mariner’s Bell goes off. Age group awards are determined by strip timing device time. All strip timing devices are pre-activated, and do not require race day activation. To be timed, you must wear your timing strip on your shoe (see above for instructions on how to attach strip), and step on the mat at the start and finish lines. Sorry, but NO TIMING STRIP ON THE SHOE, NO TIME! Again, make sure you wear it and cross the start and finish time mats. There is no alternative timing system.
