How is my data secured on FamilyMetrics?
At Pangea Foundation, we take your information security as seriously as you’d expect. We take practical action to ensure the integrity and protection of your information. All of the traffic associated with FamilyMetrics, both from our servers and from your computer, is encrypted using 128-bit SSL protocol. Only users who are signed up with FamilyMetrics have access to the application, and FamilyMetrics uses secure forms-based authentication methods to rigidly manage who has access to the varying data in the system. All users of FamilyMetrics are issued credentials (username & password) by Pangea Foundation’s technical support team upon sign-up and are deactivated once Pangea Foundation is notified by an organization that a user is no longer employed by, or is serving in a different capacity at his or her organization.
