How is mentoplasty performed?
The procedure is usually performed under intravenous sedation (light anesthesia) but can be performed under only local anesthesia. It is an outpatient surgery, with patients going to recover in the comfort of their homes within couple hours from surgery. A small incision is placed inside the mouth and no visible scars are created. The right size implant is selected and placed through the incision and into position. Dissolvable sutures are placed.
